Interview
MT: Rosa, what inspired you to create Wellness Travel Therapy (WTT)?
Rosa: The inspiration for WTT came from my extensive background in healthcare, as a dental assistant, and my passion for people and travel. I noticed a growing trend in medical tourism and saw an opportunity to combine my skills and experiences.
What makes this project worthwhile is the smile and confidence I see in people after treatments. We were born out of a desire to offer personalized, high-quality wellness and medical travel services.
MT: How do you tailor these experiences to your clients?
Rosa: We listen to each client; their needs, fears, and stories. We believe every client is unique, and so should their travel experience be. Our team meticulously plans each trip according to the client’s profile, preferences, and expectations.
This includes everything from selecting the perfect accommodation to organizing bespoke tours and activities that highlight Portugal’s culture and traditions.
MT: Can you share some examples of patients who have had remarkable experiences with your services?
Rosa: Certainly. One success story is Tom from Switzerland, who came to Portugal for blepharoplasty due to diminishing peripheral vision that concerned him deeply. Initially hesitant about traveling abroad, our meticulous planning reassured him. Tom was delighted with the high-quality care, extremely satisfied with the results, and enjoyed exploring the city of Porto.
Another example is Francis from London, who came for dental implants. He loved how his teeth turned out after the treatment and was really impressed with how easy everything was with our service. Plus, he had a blast with the meals and sightseeing tours we set up for him.
MT: Lastly, how do you see the future of WTT and the field of wellness and medical tourism?
Rosa: The future of WTT is bright and full of possibilities. We aim to expand our network of partners and services, continually enhancing the quality and variety of experiences we offer.
The field of wellness and medical tourism is growing rapidly, and we are excited to be at the forefront of this trend. Our vision is to make Portugal a top destination for medical and wellness travel, known for its excellent healthcare services and rich cultural offerings.
We are committed to evolving and innovating to meet the changing needs of our clients and the industry.
MT: What makes your service special?
Rosa: It’s truly about the human touch. At WTT, our concierge service revolves around the client, providing personalized assistance grounded in extensive experience and a commitment to exceptional customer care.
WTT offers more than just medical treatment; it’s an immersive experience characterized by knowledge, genuine care, and professionalism. We prioritize safety, peace of mind, and ensuring our clients feel completely at ease throughout their journey.
MT: And how do you ensure that clients feel well-cared for during their stay?
Rosa: Personal care is at the core of WTT. Each client is assigned a dedicated assistant who accompanies them from start to finish. I can cook, drive, go shopping—whatever they need. This level of dedication provides an extremely personalized experience, akin to that of a family member.
This process is too complex to navigate alone. Sometimes, you simply can’t manage basic tasks after surgery.
We handle everything, from reservations to itinerary planning, allowing clients to focus on their health and enjoyment. Additionally, we provide continuous support throughout their stay, promptly addressing any issues or emergencies.
MT: How does WTT differentiate itself from other competitors in the medical and wellness tourism industry?
Rosa: WTT stands out through our personalized and holistic approach. We don’t just organize medical trips; we create unique, tailored experiences that combine top-quality medical care with Portugal’s rich cultural heritage.
Our strong network of highly qualified medical professionals and exclusive partnerships with local businesses ensure that our clients receive the best possible care and experience.
